The winery and cellars have been part of the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation since 1937, established originally by monksin the time of Henry IV, Vineyard/cellar tours and daily wine tastings are available. Here the wines are dry and medium-sweet from Chenin, Gamay and Cabernet grapes. Montlouis wines include some good sparkling wines – just across the river from the better known appellation of Vouvray. Touraine wines include red, rosé and classy dry whites.
